The Department of Kinesiology at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is fully committed to providing our students the most contemporary degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels that will best prepare our students in the professions and careers they embark upon.
In addition to our degree programs, the Department continues to fulfill its mission by conducting research and disseminating this work in the most respected journals in Exercise Science, Sports Medicine and Genomics Research. Research conducted by our nationally and internationally known scholars utilizes a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach in trying to better understand the physiological effects and genetic influences of physical activity, aging, cardiovascular function, as well as the neuromechanical consequences of lower extremity joint pathology. Faculty within the Department have developed meaningful and productive areas of research that continue to be well-funded by various agencies within the National Institutes of Health and other funding sources.
The Department of Kinesiology is also committed to providing courses and services to the University community and the Charlotte region that encourages life-long movement, while also advocating and promoting healthy living through activity.
